TNNA SHOW (San Diego, CA) THE NATIONAL NEEDLEWORK ASSOCIATION
Wow! I have creative overload from the two amazing trade shows I’ve just returned from. TNNA ( The National Needlework Association) show held in beautiful San Diego, CA was 3 days of sensory overload. I am always blown away by the creativity contained within the walls of this show. The new yarns and knitting and crochet patterns are featured here along with all the “must haves” of those doing these needleart forms. The hand-painted canvases and fibers used to bring them to life always intrigues me. i want to rush home, lock the doors, unplug the phones and spend 24/7 recreating the beath taking projects I have seen….but….reality sets in and I remember the two hundred and forty three projects “in progress” at home…..WAITING!
CHA SHOW (Anaheim, CA) CRAFTS AND HOBBY ASSOCIATION
CHA – The Craft & Hobby Association show followed TNNA by only 3 days. This show is the scrapbookers fantasy land. If you can use it in scrapbooking you will find booth after booth filled with irresistable products. There are beads and all that goes with that craft and projects from drop dead beautiful gotta have to art pieces you stand and gaze at while wondering “how on earth did they do that”. I probably should limit the number of shows I attend yearly because creative overload could short circuit my system and then where would I be!? It was a blaze of craft possibilities and even Paris Hilton was there with her new scrapbooking line by Wookie……yes….Paris. The Lion Brand fashion show with Vanna White is always a treat and yes, she’s as down to earth as she seems. The new yarns and color palettes from all the yarn companies were such that I may have to quit and devote my life to knitting and crocheting! HA! Bernat/Patons had crocheted shawl that aren’t your grandmothers typical granny square. Any age would be honored to receive and wear one of these beauties.
heck out Clover’s booth and decoration at the CHA show
Coming up….the KNIT OUT in Minneapolis, MN at the Mall of America this February….last year it was 16 below zerro and that didn’t keep the thousands of devoted knitters and crocheters from braving the weather to come and see what was new so check back and see what exciting things I find this year.
